July 26, 2026: How much is a 22-carat gold bhori?
Due to the decline in the price of acidic gold, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold in the country’s market. The bhori has been reduced by Tk 3,324. As a result, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori has been fixed at Tk 220,858.
BAJUS gave this information through a notification on the morning of July 24. The new price came into effect from 10 am on that day. Accordingly, gold is being sold at the new price today, Sunday (July 26). The notification said that the price of acidic gold (pure gold) in the local market has decreased. As a result, the new price of gold including VAT has been fixed considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT in the country’s market will be Tk 220,858. In addition, the price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 210,943, the price of 18 carat gold at Tk 181,200 and the price of 18 carat gold at Tk 148,016.
Bajus said that this price will be effective in all jewelry stores until further decision. However, wages will be applicable according to the jewelry design. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold and silver jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
In this context, so far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 94 times in the domestic market. Where the price has been increased 45 times, reduced 48 times and VAT has been adjusted 1 time. And in 2025, a total of 93 gold prices were adjusted in the domestic market; where the price was increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
