July 25, 2026: How much is a 22-carat gold bar?
After increasing the price twice in a row, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to reduce the price of gold in the country’s market. This time, the organization has reduced the price of a 22-carat gold bar by Tk 3,324 including VAT to Tk 220,858.
BAJUS gave this information in a notification yesterday (July 24) morning. The new price will be effective from 10 am on that day. Today, July 25 (Saturday), gold will be sold at the same price. The notification said that the price of pure gold has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold including VAT has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of a 22-carat gold bar (11.664 grams) including VAT in the country’s market will be Tk 220,858. In addition, the price of 21 carat gold bhori has been fixed at Tk 210,943, 18 carat gold bhori at Tk 181,200 and traditional gold bhori at Tk 148,016. Bajus said that this price will be effective in all jewelry establishments until further notice. However, wages will be applicable as per the jewelry design. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold and silver jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. In addition, Bajus’ previous rules will remain in force for exchange and purchase of jewelry except for specific VAT, wages and stones.
