Netanyahu to visit US on Saturday
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the United States on Saturday (July 18), a senior Israeli official told Reuters on Wednesday (July 15).
The senior Israeli official said Netanyahu was keen to meet Trump, but it was not clear whether Trump would meet. Israel is fighting two fronts in the latest Middle East conflict – one with the United States against Iran and the other in Lebanon against Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Iran had demanded a ceasefire in Lebanon as part of an interim deal signed with Washington last month. But that deal has collapsed as tensions between the United States and Iran have risen again.
