4.5 crore taka and 9 thousand tons of rice allocated to combat floods

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated a total of 46 million taka and 8 thousand 950 metric tons of rice for 64 districts from July 7 to 12 to combat heavy rainfall and flood situations in different parts of the country.
This information was given in a press release by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief today, Monday (July 13). According to the ministry, Chittagong district has received the most assistance. A total of 65 lakh taka and 1 thousand 200 metric tons of rice have been allocated for the district in four phases.
In addition, 3 million taka and 450 metric tons of rice have been allocated to Cox’s Bazar, 2 million taka and 400 metric tons of rice to Khagrachhari, 2 million taka and 500 metric tons of rice to Rangamati, 2 million taka and 400 metric tons of rice to Bandarban, 1 million taka and 200 metric tons of rice to Moulvibazar, and 5 million taka and 100 metric tons of rice to Habiganj. The total allocation for these seven districts stands at Tk 1.75 crore and 3,250 metric tonnes of rice.
On the other hand, each of the remaining 57 districts has been allocated Tk 5 lakh cash assistance and 100 metric tonnes of rice. The total allocation for these districts is Tk 2.85 crore and 5,700 metric tonnes of rice. The ministry said that the allocation of necessary humanitarian assistance will continue as per the situation to ensure emergency food assistance to the people affected by the natural disaster.
