Referring to the Bangladesh Army as a symbol of the country’s independence and sovereignty, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the people have deep trust in the army. The army has repeatedly set shining examples of professionalism, bravery and patriotism in dealing with national crises, ensuring the country’s security and maintaining law and order.
He said this while visiting the Bangladesh Army’s summer training exercise in Purba Rahmatpur area of ​​Babuganj upazila of Barisal district at 11:30 am today, Monday (July 13). The Prime Minister inspected various training activities, war preparations and tactical exercises of army members in the jungle area.
During the exercise, the concerned army officers informed him about the army’s operational readiness, strategic capabilities and various aspects of the modern defense system. During this time, the Prime Minister witnessed the operation of the anti-drone multi-barrel system and got an idea about its use. During the visit, the Prime Minister exchanged views with the serving army members, inquired about them and urged them to perform their respective duties with professionalism, discipline and patriotism. She ate food prepared at the field level for the army members participating in the exercise.
Later, in her explanatory speech, the Prime Minister said that the people have deep trust in the Bangladesh Army, which is the symbol of the country’s independence and sovereignty. The army has repeatedly set shining examples of professionalism, bravery and patriotism in dealing with national crises, ensuring the country’s security and maintaining law and order.
She said that the discipline, efficiency, sacrifice and dedication of the army members have created a special respect for the army in the minds of the people of the country. Tarique Rahman emphasized on professional training, use of modern technology and maintaining maximum readiness to maintain this trust and respect.
The Prime Minister said that she grew up in a military family. Therefore, when she comes to the army members, she remembers her childhood memories and enjoys spending time with them. Expressing hope that the Bangladesh Army will gain more fame, prestige and professional recognition beyond the country’s borders and around the world in the coming days, he said that the government will continue to provide all necessary cooperation to enhance the army’s capacity, modernize it and ensure professional excellence.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan, Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Tariq and senior officials of the Bangladesh Army were present at the time.
