Iran launches new drone attacks on US military installations in 3 Middle Eastern countries
Iran has claimed to have launched new drone attacks on US military installations in the Gulf region in response to the recent deadly US attacks. The country’s military said the attacks targeted “US bases and strategic installations” in Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.
A statement from the Iranian military on Thursday (July 9) said a large number of different types of drones were used in the attack. However, it was not immediately possible to independently confirm the extent of damage or whether any casualties were caused in the attack. At the same time, there was no official response from the US or the relevant Gulf countries.
The statement also said that the US president’s “reckless policies and objectives” would not be allowed to succeed in any way. It also said that the country’s armed forces would continue to resist to the end to protect the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
According to analysts, Iran’s move could further escalate tensions in the Middle East after the recent US attacks. There are fears that the situation could escalate into a new conflict, especially given the US military presence in the Gulf region and Iran’s retaliatory actions.
