Barrister Rumin Farhana, a member of parliament from Brahmanbaria-2, has said that if ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to return to the country, she must follow the existing legal process. According to him, there is no legal obstacle in her way to return to the country.
He made this comment in response to a question from journalists after the National Rural Development Day program at Sarail Upazila Parishad in Brahmanbaria on Monday (July 6). Rumin Farhana said that there is no legal obstacle in her way to return to the country.
Upon returning to the country, she will surrender, seek bail and follow the existing legal process as per the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Responding to a question about the possible shadow cabinet of the opposition party, he said that shadow cabinet of the opposition party is prevalent in many democratic countries of the world. If such an initiative is taken in Bangladesh too, it should be seen as positive.
He said, “If the shadow cabinet can review ministry-wise activities and provide constructive criticism and realistic suggestions for development of the government’s policies and activities, it will further enrich democratic practices.” Barrister Rumin Farhana was present at the event along with local party leaders and supporters.
