Police have arrested Mostafizur Rahman Litu, accused of beating a businessman in Barisal for allegedly forcibly obtaining signatures on multiple checks and stamps. He was arrested today (July 5) at around 2 pm. In the meantime, the CCTV footage of the incident has been discussed and criticized since it went viral on social media. The businessman is Abdul Aziz Howlader, Managing Director of Agrani Housing Limited.
The incident took place on June 27 at 7:30 pm. The CCTV footage shows that a few people entered an establishment named Agrani Housing Company located on Sadar Road in Barisal city. At one point, the attackers beat up the managing director of the establishment and extracted signatures.
The victim of the attack, Abdul Aziz, claimed that Mostafizur Rahman Litu, a resident of Katpatti Road area of ​​the city, led the attack. At one point during the beating, Litu signed two checks and took some stamps from him. However, Litu claims that he and a few others are directors of Agrani Housing Company. But Managing Director Abdul Aziz has been cheating them for a long time. Meanwhile, the top leadership of the organization is embarrassed that the name of Jubo Dal is associated with the attacker. Later, in a press conference, the leaders claimed that Mostafizur Rahman Litu is not involved in Jubo Dal politics. Abdul Aziz, the victim, has filed a case in court regarding the attack and the signing of the checks and stamps. Police said that legal action will be taken in this incident.
