Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold jewellery in the country’s market by a maximum of Tk 3,324 including VAT to Tk 221,966 per bhori (11.664 grams). BAJUS announced this in a press release on Tuesday (June 30). The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
It said that considering the overall situation, the price of gold jewellery including VAT was unanimously fixed at the meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring. At this new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori in the country’s market is now Tk 221,966. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 211,993 per bhori, the price of 18-carat gold at Tk 182,075 per bhori and the price of traditional gold at Tk 148,774 per bhori.
Bajus said that this price will remain effective for all jewelry establishments until further notice. However, wages will be applicable as per the jewelry design. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
