3 killed in pickup van, autorickshaw collision in Fulgazi

Three people, including a mother and daughter, were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup van loaded with chicken and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Fulgazi upazila of Feni. Two others were injured in the incident. The accident occurred in front of the Fulgazi Rural Electricity Office on the Feni-Parshuram regional road on Saturday night (June 27).
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Kausar (27), son of Abul Kalam of Uttar Sreepur village in Fulgazi upazila, Wahida Akter Jui (20), wife of Kazi Hayat of Pathannagar union in Chhagalnaiya upazila, and her mother Zakia Akter. According to local residents and police sources, a pickup van loaded with chicken coming from the opposite direction collided with an autorickshaw on the way from Parshuram to Feni. Mohammad Kausar and Wahida Akter Jui died on the spot.
Three people, including Zakia Akhter, were rescued and taken to Feni General Hospital, where Zakia Akhter died while undergoing treatment. Feni Additional Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam said that two died on the spot and one died in the hospital. Two others were injured in the incident. The injured have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Fulgazi Upazila Health Complex.
