Goat dies after being fed water through a tube to make it look fat, 2 arrested

The police have arrested a livestock trader and his employee in connection with the death of a goat at the Fatullah weekly livestock market in Narayanganj. They were arrested from the Langalband area of ​​Bandar police station at around 10:30 pm on Saturday (June 27). The two arrested are livestock trader Sahabuddin (56) and his employee Hasnat (20). They are residents of Langalband Panch Kamtal village of Bandar police station.
During police interrogation, Sahabuddin said that he and his employee used to buy goats from different districts and sell them at different weekly livestock markets in Narayanganj. To make the goats look fat and obese to the buyers, they used to insert a plastic tube into the goat’s neck and feed it water from a container. This would cause the goat’s stomach to swell and it would be possible to sell it at a higher price. He also admitted that he has been doing this business for a long time. On the day of the incident, a goat died due to excessive water. Fatullah Model Police Station OC Mahbub Alam said that on June 2, Shahabuddin and his employee Hasnat tried to inflate a goat’s stomach by inserting a tube into its throat and feeding it water. At one point, the goat died. When a picture of the incident went viral on social media, the matter came to the attention of senior police officials. After that, a police team identified the accused, conducted a raid and arrested them. He added that a case will be filed against them in this incident.
