Gold price drops again in a day, Tk 2,216 per bhori

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold jewellery in the country’s market by a maximum of Tk 2,216 per bhori including VAT and set the new price of gold at Tk 2,23,074 per bhori (11.664 grams).
BAJUS announced this in a press release on Thursday (June 25). The new price will be effective from 10 am today. The press release said that considering the overall situation, the price of gold jewellery including VAT was unanimously decided at the meeting of the BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring.
At the new rate, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori in the country’s market has now been set at Tk 2,23,074. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been set at Tk 2,13,043, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has been set at Tk 1,82,950 and the price of traditional gold per bhori has been set at Tk 1,49,474.
Bajus said that this price will be effective in all jewelry stores until further notice. However, wages will be applicable according to the jewelry design. Since VAT is included in the selling price of gold jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
