Body of unidentified person recovered from railway line in Narsingdi

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified person from the railway line in Narsingdi. The body was recovered from under the railway line in the city’s Toroa area on Wednesday (June 24). Locals said that this morning they saw a body lying next to the railway line in the Toroa Mazar area. Later, they informed the railway police, who reached the spot around 12 noon, recovered the body and took it to the Narsingdi railway outpost. However, the identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
Local resident Kashem Mia said that the man had been wandering around the Mazar area like a vagrant for two to three months. He used to sleep near the mazar at night. When he woke up on Wednesday morning, he saw the body lying next to the railway line.
In this regard, Dilip Chandra Sarkar, Sub-Inspector of Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost, said that the estimated age of the deceased is 45 years. It is believed that he died after being hit by a train heading from Chittagong to Dhaka in the early hours of the morning. He has injury marks on his head and various parts of his body. The PBI has been informed for identification. Legal action will be taken in this incident.
