Husband arrested for slitting wife’s throat over extramarital affair
A housewife was brutally stabbed to death by her husband over extramarital affair in Namapara area, 300 feet from Khilkhet in the capital. Police have arrested the accused murderer, husband Aminul (44). The murder took place on Tuesday (June 23) night.
Police and local sources said that accused Aminul is a rickshaw puller by profession. He used to pull rickshaws in Bashundhara residential area of the capital. Their permanent home is in Dinajpur district. They lived in a rented house in Namapara area, 300 feet from Khilkhet.
It is learnt that there was a long-standing enmity between them over family feud and his wife’s extramarital affair. That is why at one point during an argument last night, the husband attacked his wife with a sharp knife. The killer Aminul stabbed his wife twice in the stomach and twice in the neck. The wife died on the spot due to excessive bleeding from the stab wound. Immediately after the incident, Khilkhet Police Station, with the help of locals, conducted a quick raid and was able to arrest the accused husband Aminul.
Khilkhet Police Station OC (Investigation) Ashikur Rahman told us that the bloody knife used in the murder has been recovered. During the initial interrogation, accused Aminul confessed to committing the murder following a quarrel. The body of the deceased has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a murder case in this incident.
