Schoolgirl’s body recovered from pond two days after going missing
The body of a child named Senjuti Rani Sarkar (8) was recovered from the pond of the Upazila Parishad two days after she went missing on her way back from school in Sakhipur, Tangail.
Her body was recovered from the pond of the Upazila Parishad on Monday (June 22) morning. Senjuti is the daughter of Falu Chandra Sarkar of Mandirpara area of Ward No. 7 of the Municipality and a second-grade student of the local Adarsh Shishu Kanon Pre-Cadet School.
According to police and family sources, Senjuti did not return home after playing in the Upazila Parishad field on Saturday (June 20) afternoon. Later, the family searched the area in search of her and filed a general diary with the police station. Then this morning, local people saw Senjuti’s body floating in the Upazila Parishad pond and informed the police. Sakhipur Police Station OC Helal Uddin said the body has been recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy.
