Iran’s top negotiators have left Switzerland for Tehran after lengthy talks with the United States. They left Switzerland after nearly 18 hours of talks, according to Iranian state media.
The negotiating team was led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibof and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The team also included Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister Hamid Burd and nuclear negotiator Ali Baqeri.
Iran’s state news agencies ISNA and Tasnim reported that while the main negotiating team had returned to the country, a technical team was still in Switzerland. The team is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi. They will continue to discuss technical issues related to the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’.
Despite these lengthy talks, the two sides have yet to reach a final agreement. However, as technical talks are ongoing, there is a possibility of progress in the future.
