College student arrested for making objectionable posts about Jaima Rahman

A teenager named Sabidul Islam Siam has been arrested from Akhaura, Brahmanbaria, on charges of spreading ugly and objectionable comments on social media Facebook about the Prime Minister’s daughter, Barrister Jaima Rahman.
On Sunday night (June 21), Akhaura police station arrested Siam from his aunt’s house in Sadar upazila through mobile tracking. The arrested Sabidul Islam Siam is the son of Shahnewaz Mia of Azampur village bordering Akhaura upazila. He is a class 11 student.
According to Akhaura police station sources, after receiving a complaint about ugly and objectionable posts on Facebook, the police identified the accused using information technology. Later, on Sunday night, Siam was arrested by conducting a raid at his aunt’s house in Uttar Jagatsar area of ​​Sadar upazila after confirming his location through mobile tracking. The mobile phone used by the arrested person has been seized. A case is under process against him under the Digital Security Act.
Akhaura Police Station OC Jabed ul Islam said, “We arrested him based on the complaint of student leaders. The process of sending him to court is underway. We are following a zero tolerance policy regarding cybercrime,” the OC said.
