Four people, including father and son, die while saving goat from septic tank in Tangail

Four people, including a father and son, died while trying to rescue a goat from an abandoned septic tank in Madhupur upazila of Tangail. The incident took place on Saturday (June 20) morning in Jolai village of the upazila. The deceased were identified as Neymar Mrong (10), Ratan Nakrek (25), Gabriel Nakrek (45) and Bablu Hajong (35).
Police said that a child got into the tank to rescue a goat that had fallen into the abandoned septic tank. After receiving no response for a long time, the three got into the tank one by one. Since none of them responded, the fire brigade was informed. Later, the fire brigade went to the spot and recovered their bodies.
In this regard, Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Fazlul Haque said that the fire brigade has recovered the bodies of four people. The bodies will be sent to the morgue for autopsy. They will be handed over to the families after the legal process is completed.
