Trader dies while collecting jackfruit

A 60-year-old trader died after being electrocuted while collecting jackfruit from a tree in Ulipur, Kurigram. The accident occurred at around 10 am today (June 15) in Madhupur village of Dharanibari union of the upazila. The deceased is the son of Tamizuddin of Chirkhwapar village of Hatia union. He is a seasonal jackfruit trader by profession.
According to the family of the deceased and local sources, seasonal jackfruit trader Kaiser Ali had gone to the house of Ismail Hossain of Madhupur village in the morning to collect jackfruit. At one point, while collecting jackfruit, he accidentally touched a moving electric wire with his sickle and got electrocuted. As a result, he fell down from the tree. He died on the spot. Ulipur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Saeed Ibne Siddiqui said that police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. Necessary legal action is in the process of being taken in this regard.
