5 stolen motorcycles recovered in Jhenaidah, 3 arrested
Police have recovered 5 stolen motorcycles in a raid in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah. Three members of a motorcycle theft gang have been arrested in the incident. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Jalal Hossain gave this information at a press conference organized at Kaliganj police station on Saturday (June 13) afternoon.
The arrested are Biswajit Karmakar of Naldanga area of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila, Abdul Al Mamun of Narikelbaria area of Kaliganj upazila and Sobhan Khan of Rakra village. OC Jalal Hossain told the press conference that a motorcycle theft incident took place in Kaliganj area a few days ago. After the incident, the police went into the field to identify the theft gang and recover the stolen motorcycles. Based on information received from confidential sources, raids were conducted in various places in the upazila on Friday (June 12) night.
The OC also said that during the operation, 2 motorcycles were recovered from Nimtala area of Kaliganj, 2 from Narikelbaria area and 1 from Ghazir Bazar area. At the same time, three members of the gang of thieves were arrested. He added that the police operation is continuing to identify and arrest other members of the gang.
