4 killed in pickup truck accident in Tangail

Four people, including the driver of a pickup van carrying chicken, were killed in a road accident in Sakhipur, Tangail. A worker of a truck loaded with bamboo was seriously injured in the incident. The accident took place in the Kalia Ghonarchala area of ​​the Sakhipur-Sagardighi road today (June 9).
The deceased were Noor Nabi (64), son of Abul Hakim of Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur, Rafiqul Islam (18), son of Palash of Patanitala upazila of Naogaon, Sagar (22), son of Ershad of Kendua upazila of Netrokona, and Sumon (26), son of Selim of Bhola district.
Locals said that the truck loaded with bamboo was standing on the side of the road. At that time, when the Dhaka-bound pickup van loaded with chicken reached the spot, it lost control and hit the truck behind it. As a result, the pickup van twisted and turned and four people died on the spot. A truck worker was seriously injured in the accident.
Zahirul Islam, who was injured in the accident, has been rescued and sent to the hospital. At the same time, the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and taken to Sakhipur Police Station. In this regard, Sakhipur Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Al Mamun said that the family members of the deceased are being contacted. When the family members reach the police station, the necessary legal procedures will be completed and the bodies will be handed over.
