15 killed in strong earthquake in Philippines

A strong earthquake struck the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Monday morning (June 8). So far, 15 people have been reported dead. The number is expected to rise. BBC News.
The Philippine Civil Defense Department said this information. Rodrigo Sosmina, director of the department, said 12 people were reported dead in the Soxargen region. This region consists of four provinces and a city. At least 129 people were injured in the earthquake in this region.
The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale. A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake. The GFZ also said the earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers.
