US claims to have shot down two Iranian drones in Hormuz
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces have shot down two Iranian drones that were threatening commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important waterway in the Persian Gulf.
In a social media post on Saturday (June 6), CENTCOM said US forces deployed in the Middle East had destroyed two “one-way attack” drones that were threatening international shipping.
CENTCOM also said US forces are always ready to “deter Iranian aggression”. Earlier last Friday (June 5), CENTCOM claimed to have shot down four more attack drones.
