A. League attacks Chhatra Dal by miking

A clash broke out between Chhatra Dal leaders and activists in Sadar Upazila of Noakhali. A motorcycle of Chhatra Dal was set on fire during the clash. At least 6 people from Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal, including the organizing secretary of Noakhali City Sramik Dal, Md. Hridoy, were injured in the clash. The incident took place on Saturday evening in Paschim Shullukia village of ward number 6 of Kaladrap Union of the upazila. A large number of law enforcement officers are currently present there.
Police and local sources said that a protest march and rally was held in Banderhat area of ​​Noannai Union of the upazila on Friday afternoon by the initiative of the banned Chhatra League. In protest against this, Chhatra Dal held a protest march and rally there yesterday afternoon under the leadership of District Chhatra Dal President NBS Russell. While there, they received news that Awami League leaders and activists had taken out a procession in Kaladrap Union wearing shrouds on their heads. After the event, Chhatra Dal leaders and workers were returning with a motorcycle convoy when they saw Kaladrop Union Parishad Chairman and former Union Chhatra League President Shahadat Hossain Selim sitting in a shop next to his house. At that time, an argument broke out between the chairman and Chhatra Dal leaders and workers about the procession.
In the meantime, when an announcement of an attack on the chairman was made over the mosque microphone, local Awami League and chairman’s supporters gathered at the scene. Later, a clash broke out between the two sides. At that time, bricks were thrown and a Chhatra Dal motorcycle was set on fire. Six people, including Sramik Dal leader Hridoy, were injured.
Later, at around 7:45 pm, Chhatra Dal leaders and workers gathered and set fire to a private office of Shahadat Hossain Selim. District Chhatra Dal president NBS Russell said, “Chhatra League workers had gathered near the chairman’s house to hold a procession. When the ward Chhatra Dal leaders and workers went there on receiving the news, they were ambushed. Later, after the Banderhat program, we went to the spot and safely evacuated the leaders and workers. Six of our leaders and workers were injured in the attack and a motorcycle was set on fire.” Sudharam Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Touhidul Islam said, “Police are at the spot. There was an attack, a motorcycle and an office were set on fire. Police and RAB members are at the spot.”
