Woman and 3 youths arrested after video of attack with axe and ramda goes viral in Fatulla
A woman and three youths have been arrested within hours of a video of an attack on a neighbor’s house with an axe and ramda over an old enmity in Fatulla, Narayanganj, going viral on social media. Seven axes, a machetes and a chapati have been recovered from them.
They were arrested from Bholail Geddarbazar area of Fatulla in the early hours of Sunday (June 7). The arrested are Sathi Begum (38), Shamim (25), Arif (25) and his elder brother Aslam (28).
Fatullah Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Alam said that on June 4 at 10 pm, a video went viral on social media showing a group of miscreants armed with country-made weapons, axes, machetes and knives breaking the iron gate and door of Badruddin Zaman’s house in Geddarbazar area of Bholail and committing widespread vandalism. The affected family called the police station and lodged a complaint.
After that, an immediate raid was conducted and four people were arrested along with country-made weapons. The bicycle stolen from the arrested people was recovered. Hridoy, son of the victim Badruddin Zaman, has filed a case in this incident.
