3 friends riding bikes killed in road accident in Basail
Two friends riding motorcycles were also killed in a road accident in Basail, Tangail. All three friends died in the accident. Earlier, a friend died on the spot. The accident took place on Sunday (May 24) afternoon in Bangra Kalibari area of Basail-Bhatkura regional road.
The deceased are Takbir Mia (16), son of expatriate Rafiq Mia of Bangra area, Md. Limon (14), son of Shawkat Ali, and Simon (14), son of Sulaiman Mia. They are students of Karatia HM Institution School and College. Police and family said that when a Tangail-bound CNG-powered (unregistered) auto-rickshaw reached Bangra area, it collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Takbir Mia died on the spot.
Two others were rescued with serious injuries and sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital. Doctors there declared Limon dead. Simon, who was seriously injured, also died on his way to Dhaka for better treatment. Basail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Kabir said the bodies have been examined. A case will be filed after receiving the complaint.
