Housewife’s burnt body recovered from locked house in Gazipur

The police have recovered the burnt body of a housewife named Farzana Akhter (18) from a locked house in Konabari, Gazipur city. After the incident, the deceased’s husband Md. Babu (35) and the house’s caretaker Roman (27) have been detained for questioning.
The incident took place on Friday (May 22) evening at Raju’s house in Tinshed Colony in the Notun Bazar New Market area of ​​Konabari police station. The deceased Farzana Akhter is the daughter of Ayub Ali of Bihari Patti area of ​​Mirpur in the capital. She lived in the rented house in Konabari with her husband Md. Babu.
Locals said that a strong burning smell started coming from a room in the Tinshed Colony of Raju’s house yesterday evening. The residents of the area became suspicious as the door was closed for a long time. Later, some local residents broke the tin fence and entered the house and saw Farzana Akhter’s burnt body lying on the floor.
Then a local resident called the national emergency service 999 and Konabari police reached the spot and recovered the body. The police also recovered a bottle of kerosene oil from the spot. In this regard, Gazipur Metropolitan Police’s Konabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Iftekhar Hossain said that the burnt body of a housewife named Farzana Akhtar has been recovered. The incident is being investigated seriously. The body has been sent to the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Details will be announced once the investigation is completed.
