The US and Israel are preparing for a more powerful attack on Iran as peace talks stall in Islamabad. The New York Times reported, citing two US officials on Middle East affairs, that this possible military operation could begin next week. However, Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision.
Originally, Iran and the US agreed to a temporary ceasefire for the purpose of peace talks held in Pakistan. Although the top leaders of the two countries sat at the same table there, no agreement was reached due to major differences. Since then, the agreement has been caught in a web of various terms and conditions.
The US and Israeli militaries are again preparing for a possible military operation in the country as peace talks stall. This information has emerged in a report by the New York Times. It was quoted as saying that they are preparing to start the war again next week. However, no final decision has been made yet. The next step will be determined only after the approval of US President Donald Trump.
According to the report, more powerful attacks on Iranian infrastructure and military installations, as well as strategic targets around the Strait of Hormuz, are being considered. This includes the seizure of important oil export centers such as the Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf. At the same time, it is said that risky operations such as the use of special forces to recover sensitive materials from nuclear facilities are also being considered. However, analysts say that there are risks in extracting highly enriched uranium. There is also a risk of heavy casualties in the resistance of Iranian ground forces.
