Iranian parliament spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei warned that if Iran is attacked again, the country could enrich uranium to 90%, which is considered the level needed to make a nuclear bomb. He made the comments in a post on social media on Tuesday (May 12). Reuters reported this news. Ebrahim Rezaei wrote in the post, “One of Iran’s options in the event of another attack could be to enrich uranium to 90%. We will review the issue in parliament.”
The US president said on Monday (May 11) that the ongoing ceasefire between the United States and Iran is on life support, as he rejected an Iranian proposal. As a result, it has become clear how fragile the diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict are. Earlier in June, Trump said that Iran’s nuclear facilities were completely destroyed by US and Israeli attacks during the 12-day war, which severely damaged Iran’s ability to enrich uranium.
The nuclear issue has been a major sticking point in talks between the United States and Iran to end the conflict that began in late February. While Tehran wants to discuss the nuclear issue, Washington is pressuring Iran to stop enriching high-level uranium domestically.
