Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised Indian citizens not to buy gold for the next one year to deal with the economic pressure caused by the prolonged Iran war. This information was reported by Qatar-based media Al Jazeera in a report today (May 11). At the same time, Prime Minister Modi also urged citizens to be frugal to deal with the economic pressure caused by the war.
Modi’s call comes at a time when fuel prices are fluctuating in the global market. This is because the Iranian authorities have closed the Strait of Hormuz, which has put pressure on energy supplies. About 90 percent of India’s LNG imports are through this sea route.
In this situation, Modi has once again said that ‘work from home’ should be introduced. He also suggested cutting unnecessary ‘expenses’. The Indian Prime Minister has called for savings in the food sector and has asked to reduce the use of edible oil. He has also requested farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilizers imported from abroad.
