Shubhendu’s oath-taking today, Prime Minister Modi and Chief Ministers of 20 states to be present

The historic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata is ready to welcome the new Chief Minister of West Bengal, India. Shubhendu Adhikari will take oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal today (May 9) at 10 am local time. He is the first Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the history of West Bengal. Earlier, Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah announced Shubhendu Adhikari as the Chief Minister yesterday (May 8) at a meeting of elected BJP MLAs. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was present with him in this discussion.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President Nitin Naveen and top BJP leaders are expected to be present at today’s oath-taking ceremony. In addition, Chief Ministers of at least 20 states of the country will also participate. Adequate security arrangements have been made in the premises around the oath-taking ceremony. The ground has been divided into 35 sectors and about 4,000 police have been deployed.
There will be a huge Durga idol on the main stage. Along with this, various famous and aesthetic portraits of Bengal will also be arranged there. In addition, multiple food stalls are being set up across the field. Where various types of Bengali food including Jhalmuri, Rasgolla, Sandesh will be available.
