May 4, 2026: How much is a 22-carat gold bhori?
Amid geopolitical tensions, the price of gold has increased again in the country’s market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of a 22-carat gold bhori by Tk 2,158 in the latest bhori. In this, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori has been fixed at Tk 2,42,495. BAJUS gave this information in a notification on Thursday evening (April 30). The new price has come into effect from that day. Today, Monday (May 4), gold will be sold at that consolidated price.
The notification said that the price of pure gold has increased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation. Earlier, the price of a good quality gold bhori was reduced by Tk 2,158 from 10 am on April 30. In this, the price of a good quality gold bhori was reduced by Tk 9,856 in four steps. After continuous price reduction, the price of gold has now been increased.
According to the fixed price, the price of 21 carat gold per bhori is 231,939 taka, the price of 18 carat gold per bhori is 198,405 taka and the price of traditional gold per bhori is 161,605 taka. Despite the increase in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of one bhori of 22 carat silver is 5,482 taka. In addition, the price of 21 carat silver per bhori is 5,190 taka, the price of 18 carat silver per bhori is 4,490 taka and the price of traditional silver per bhori is 3,383 taka.
