Death of a child infected with measles in Comilla

A child named Arash has died of measles in Comilla. Nine-month-old Arash is the son of Abul Kalam of Tarapur village in Sadar Dakshin Upazila. He died at 8:30 pm on Saturday (May 2) in the measles isolation room of Comilla Medical College Hospital. This Sunday (May 3) morning, Dr. Mia Manzur Ahmed, head of the pediatric department of Comilla Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter.
He said that Arash was suffering from pneumonia. He also had measles symptoms. Due to this, he was kept in measles isolation. However, when relatives brought him to the hospital late, the child’s infection took a serious form. This led to physical complications and Arash died at 8:30 pm on Saturday. So far, 6 children have died of measles symptoms in Comilla. Of these, 3 died in Dhaka and the remaining 3 died in Comilla.
