3 businesses fined for keeping shops open after 6 pm in Jamalpur
The district administration has fined three businesses a total of Tk 9,000 by conducting a mobile court in Jamalpur for keeping shops and shopping malls open after the scheduled time in violation of government instructions. The operation was conducted on Friday (May 1) night in the city’s Shaheed Harun Road area under the leadership of District Administration Executive Magistrate Hasibur Rahman.
According to the mobile court, although shops and shopping malls were supposed to be closed after 6 pm as per government instructions to save electricity and energy, some businesses were continuing their activities in defiance. Based on such information, the mobile court was conducted at the initiative of the district administration.
During the operation, three businesses were fined Tk 2,000, a hardware shop Tk 2,000 and a mobile phone shop Tk 5,000. Executive Magistrate Hasibur Rahman, who conducted the drive, said, “Such drives will be conducted regularly to implement government decisions, prevent power wastage and restore order in urban areas.” He also mentioned that legal action will continue against those who disobey the instructions.
