Residents of Laxmichari upazila of Khagrachhari are in extreme distress due to the power supply being cut off for 5 consecutive days. The lack of electricity for the last 4 days, including yesterday, Wednesday (April 29), has disrupted the daily activities of the people of this region and mobile and internet users are also suffering severely.
Locals said that due to the lack of electricity, various crises including water have arisen in the Upazila Health Complex and health services are also being severely disrupted. According to local sources, this problem has arisen due to faults in the electrical lines for the last few days. It has become impossible to carry out normal activities, especially at home.
On the other hand, several houses have been damaged by the Kalbaisakhi storm in Taindong and Tabalchhari of Matiranga upazila. Locals are panicking as trees have fallen around the houses in the storm. Meanwhile, Ramgarh upazila has been without electricity for two consecutive days since last Tuesday. This situation has been created due to the uprooting of trees and falling on electricity poles and transmission lines in various places due to the Kalbaishakhi storm and gusty winds. Due to this prolonged power crisis, network services for the residents of the two upazilas have also been almost disrupted.
