As part of the naval blockade imposed on Iran, the United States has ordered 31 ships to change course or return to port. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that most of these ships are fuel tankers.
According to a report by Al Jazeera on Wednesday (April 22), CENTCOM claimed in a post on its social media that most of the ships are complying with US instructions. According to CENTCOM, more than 10,000 US troops, 17 warships and more than 100 aircraft are participating in the implementation of this naval blockade in Iranian ports.
It is worth noting that the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28. Immediately after this, Tehran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for world trade. In response, Washington has launched this naval blockade against Iran.
