The prices of gold and silver have been increased in the country’s market. According to the new decision, these two precious metals are being sold at the latest fixed prices from today, Wednesday (April 22). In a notification published on the morning of April 15, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in the prices of gold and silver. In that announcement, the price of gold per bhori has been increased by Tk 2,216 and the price of silver by Tk 350.
The notification said that the prices of acidic gold and silver (pure gold and silver) have increased in the local market. As a result, considering the overall situation, new prices of gold and silver have been fixed. The new prices came into effect from 10 am on that day.
According to the decision, the price of 22 carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has been fixed at Tk 2,50,193 in the country’s market. In addition, 21 carat gold is being sold at Tk 238,820 per bhori, 18 carat gold is being sold at Tk 244,703 per bhori and 166,737 per bhori in the conventional method. In this context, the price of gold has been adjusted 55 times in the domestic market so far this year. Along with the increase in gold prices, the price of silver has also been increased in the domestic market today. Currently, a 22-carat silver bar is being sold for 6,065 taka. In addition, 21-carat gold is being sold for 5,774 taka per bhori, 18-carat gold is being sold for 4,957 taka per bhori and 3,732 taka per bhori in the conventional method. In this context, the price of silver has been adjusted 34 times in the domestic market so far this year.
