1,30,724 candidates compete together in Chittagong, SSC exam begins

The SSC and equivalent exams have begun under the Chittagong Education Board. 1,30,724 candidates are participating in the 2026 SSC exam. Of these, 56,351 are boys and 74,373 are girls. The exam started today, Tuesday (April 21) at 10 am with the first paper of Bengali.
According to the information of the Chittagong Education Board, this time the exam will be held at 218 centers. Of the participating candidates, 34,991 are from the science department, 43,983 from the humanities department and 51,750 from the business education department. In addition, students from 1,218 schools in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and three hill districts are participating in this exam. Of these, 92,338 are in Chittagong city and district, 18,924 in Cox’s Bazar, 7,417 in Rangamati, 8,071 in Khagrachari and 3,874 in Bandarban.
The Education Board has formed 76 vigilance teams to conduct the examination smoothly. Out of these, 66 general and 10 special vigilance teams will be on the ground. Board officials said that all preparations have already been completed to organize the examination in a cheating-free and peaceful environment.
Chittagong Board Examination Controller Md. Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury said that this time 76 vigilance teams have been formed to conduct the examination smoothly. Out of these, 66 are general and 10 are special vigilance teams. This time, more than 1 lakh students from 1,218 schools in 218 centers will take part in the examination. A letter has been sent to the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the examination.
