Mirza Abbas’s wife expresses her position on not getting nomination

Nationalist Women’s Party (BNP) President Afroza Abbas has expressed her position on not getting nomination for the reserved women’s seat. She said that although the party offered her nomination, she did not give it herself. On Monday evening (April 20), she said on her verified Facebook ID that she was contacted by the highest policy-making level of the party. However, she clearly stated that she will not contest from the reserved seat.
In the post, which was given as a statement, she said, “I am Afroza Abbas, Mirza Abbas’s wife – this is my identity. In the light of the recent elections and various information circulated, I want to clarify a few things for everyone.”
Incidentally, the party has released a list of 36 people nominated by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the reserved women’s seat in the 13th National Parliament election. Where many influential names have been left out even after discussions. Apart from Mirza Abbas’s wife, those whose nominations were rejected include Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia, Afroza Abbas, Kanakchampa, Baby Nazneen, Rizia Parveen, Meghna Alam and Farzana Sinthi.
