France protests to end US-Israeli aggression
France has become heated in the demand for an end to the US-Israeli aggression in the Middle East and for Palestinian independence. On Saturday afternoon (April 18), large rallies and marches were held in major cities including Paris. Thousands of people took part in the event, which began in the Menilmontant area of Paris. In addition to expatriate Arabs, Africans and Europeans, a large number of local French citizens also joined it.
In addition to Paris, protests were reported in the cities of Vichy, Marseille, La Ciotat and Nantes at the same time. Participants in the rally were carrying Palestinian flags and placards with various demands. The protesters chanted slogans such as ‘We want peace’, ‘We want the liberation of Palestine’ and ‘Stop the war’. The speakers said that human rights are being seriously violated in the ongoing violence in the Middle East.
They called on the international community to take immediate and effective action to save the lives of innocent people. The protesters stressed the importance of a lasting and just solution. Additional law enforcement officers were deployed across the city to maintain security during the protests. The event ended peacefully without any untoward incidents. The solidarity rally was organized in France as part of the recent global concern over the situation in the Middle East.
