China: Iron ore spot prices edge down d-o-d
Iron ore fines (Fe 61%) spot prices dropped by $0.45/dmt d-o-d to $107.0/dmt CFR China on 17 Apr’26. Prices softened as production curbs weighed on demand, with limited trades in medium-grade fines. Sentiment remained mixed, with some mills expecting output restrictions due to anti-pollution measures, while others cited firm demand and strong exports. Meanwhile, healthy steel margins in Tangshan supported demand for higher-grade fines.
