What the Energy Minister said regarding the increase in oil prices

There is a rule for adjusting fuel prices and it is reviewed every month, said Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku. He gave this information while speaking in the National Parliament on Tuesday (April 7). The Energy Minister said that a decision will be taken after a discussion in the cabinet meeting on whether fuel prices will be increased next month. Currently, Bangladesh is the only country where fuel prices have been kept unchanged.
Stating that there is sufficient fuel stock in the country, he said that the government is collecting fuel from all possible sources to maintain normal supply. An operation is underway to prevent illegal stockpiling and black marketing. At that time, the minister said that 40 lakh 48 thousand 465 liters of oil have been recovered in this operation in the last one month.
In the information given in the parliament, he said that the most stockpiled fuel is diesel – 1 lakh 64 thousand 644 metric tons. There are also 10 thousand 500 tons of octane and 16 thousand tons of petrol. Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku further said that 138,000 tons of diesel, 71,443 tons of octane and 36,000 tons of gasoline will be imported by April.
