54 more killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon in a day
At least 54 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon in the past 24 hours. In addition, 156 people have been injured. The country’s Health Ministry said that the death toll in the Israeli attacks that began on March 2 has exceeded 1,400. Anadolu Agency reported this. The Health Ministry’s statement said that the total death toll has reached 1,422 so far and another 4,294 people have been injured in the same period.
The report also said that Israel has continued air strikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon. Although a ceasefire came into effect in November 2024, renewed clashes in the region began after Hezbollah’s border attacks on March 2.
Since then, Hezbollah and Israel have been carrying out rocket attacks in various areas. They claim that the attacks are being carried out in response to Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon and the assassination of Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli operation on February 28. Meanwhile, Israeli military authorities confirmed on Saturday (April 4) that one Israeli military soldier was killed and another was seriously injured in a suicide attack during a ground operation in southern Lebanon.
