India: Melting scrap prices rise by INR 500/t d-o-d in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 500/t d-o-d on 2 Apr’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 37,500/t ($400/t) exy. The regional market witnessed active trading, supported by an INR 900-1,200/t rise in semi-finished and finished steel prices in the previous trading session. Additionally, active buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
