China: Iron ore spot prices edge up by $1/t d-o-d
Benchmark Fe61% iron ore fines spot prices rose by $0.55/t d-o-d to $108.2/dmt CFR China on 1 Apr’26. Prices rose slightly on firm demand for May cargoes despite ample supply and weak medium-grade demand. Freight and oil supply concerns may disrupt mining, especially for smaller Australian miners. Port stock pressure on prompt prices is unlikely to impact May premiums.
