Baltic Dry Index extends losses, hits 2-week low

The Baltic Dry Index fell by 2.4% (48 points) d-o-d to a two-week low of 1,989 on 24 Mar’26. The decline in the index was primarily driven by weakness in the Capesize segment due to reduced earnings and softer cargo flow.

• Capesize: BCI down 3.2% (93 points) to 2,844.
• Panamax: BPI declined 2.6% (49 points) to 1,839.
• Supramax: BSI dropped 0.2% (3 points) to 1,215.
