Police officer’s mother slits throat in Khulna

Miscreants slit the throat of a police officer named Bharati Mondal in Khulna’s Paikgachha. Police recovered her body yesterday, Sunday (March 15). Police believe the incident took place on Saturday (March 14) night in Putalkhali area of ​​Lata Union of the upazila. Bharati Mondal is a resident of the village. She is the mother of Sub-Inspector (SI) Chinmoy Mondal, working at Sharankhola Police Station in Bagerhat.
According to local sources, someone slit Bharati Mondal’s throat last Saturday night and dumped it in a fish pond near her house. Yesterday morning, neighbors came to the house and started looking for her. Later, after seeing her body lying in the pond, they informed the police.
In the afternoon, the police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College (Khumec) Hospital for autopsy. District Additional Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman (Crime), Assistant Superintendent of Police Amir Hamza and other senior police officers visited the scene.
