4 killed in accident at separate under-construction building in Narayanganj

Two people, including the building owner, died after being electrocuted in a building under construction in Rupganj, Narayanganj. Two more died after falling from the roof of another building.
On Saturday (March 14) afternoon, building owner Arfan Molla (55) died on the spot after being electrocuted while working on Thai glass in a three-storey under-construction building in Madhyapara area of ​​Golakandail upazila. At that time, his son Leon Molla (32) and Thai mechanic Sadiqur Rahman (35) were burnt. They were rescued and admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Sadiqur Rahman died while undergoing treatment around 7 pm. Burned Leon Molla is still undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be critical.
On the same day, in the afternoon, two masons fell from a rope while plastering the sixth floor of a 9-storey building under construction on Road No. 503 of Sector No. 16 of the Purbachal Jalsiri Housing Project and died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Alamgir Islam (28), son of the late Abrudi of Kadamtala village in Kurigram Sadar upazila, and Alam Badsha (35), son of Khalek of Maslapara village.
Rupganj Police Station OC Mohammad Sabzel Hossain told us that the accident occurred when they came into contact with a 33,000-volt electric wire next to the building. On the other hand, two more workers died after falling from the building. The bodies have been handed over to their relatives as the families did not file any complaint.
