This Parliament should not become a center for character assassination: Opposition Leader
After being elected as the Speaker of the 13th National Parliament, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed delivered a welcome speech. Then Prime Minister Tarique Rahman spoke, followed by Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
In his speech, the Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader said that today’s Parliament is a parliament standing on the blood of July. In the past, most of the time, Parliament has become a dummy parliament due to fascism. In the past, incidents of character assassination have occurred in this Parliament. He expressed hope that this Parliament should not become a center for character assassination.
Addressing the Speaker, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed hope that the government and opposition parties would not separate from the Speaker. In this context, he told the Speaker, you are a struggling freedom fighter, you can do this. Shafiqur Rahman said that he expects justice from the Speaker.
