Night raids on various oil pumps in Jessore

The Upazila administration has conducted raids on various oil pumps in Bagharpara, Jessore. Raids were conducted on several filling stations on Friday (March 6) night.
It is learnt that the raids were conducted at night to prevent pump owners from creating an artificial shortage of fuel oil. At that time, a pump was fined Tk 10,000 for not keeping oil accounts and register books.
The administration said that the raids will continue regularly to monitor whether oil is being sold at the right price and whether any irregularities are taking place.
